The term Industry 4.0 was used for the first time at the Hannover fair in Germany in 2011. It is meant to refer to the fourth industrial revolution that will increase the operational effectiveness of companies, and it will involve the development of new business models and services more and more customised. The production process will be increasingly harmonized and interconnected, managed by intelligent machines able to collaborate with man, while the analysis of "Big Data" will radicalize entrepreneurial strategies.
